Why does the AZ DOC think these are dangerous?
McDonald’s Happy Meal Has 50% More “Nuggets”
The profiteering Trinity gives women an average of 4 chicken nuggets in a bag, while McDonald’s CHILDREN’S meal has 6. The women receive food portions not deemed adequate for a child. Half-sized food portions are the norm, and mechanically separated chicken (bone, beaks, legs, gristle no extra charge) are the main staple.
Vermin infests Perryville!
Our sources on Lumley, Cruz, and Carlos report ROACHES and RODENTS permeating the living quarters. Inmates on Cruz and Lumley are mostly infested with roaches, while San Carlos has problems with mice and rats. At C bay on Carlos, 3 mice were reportedly caught in sticky traps in one day. A bay has had a similar infestation.
The women’s food supply is being eaten through by hungry little mouths. In general, the inmates say the staff are ho-hum about the whole thing and refuse to put more traps out because “it costs money”.
Our readers can Google all the diseases rodents carry so you can see for yourself how serious it is. What galls us, even more, is the women themselves are called on to carry the dead rodents out to the trash. One eyewitness account of CO PEARCH completely ignoring the dead mouse in the laundry room (11-6-22 am shift), she wouldn’t even call it in. An inmate had to deal with it.
Large rats are breeding under the buildings, while mice seem to have nests inside the buildings. Stay tuned.
Trinity’s BAIT and SWITCH
The Keefe/Trinity Corp has found yet another way to scalp inmates of their precious few dollars. Not happy with a complete monopoly on food that inmates have no choice but to consume, but they want MORE money for their “restaurant meals”.
Billed as restaurant quality, and big portions, of meals like Angus Burger, Carne Asada, and Chicken Tenders. Comes with a bag of chips and a soda! You should see the photos on display of each meal….yummy. And for the amazingly low price of $10.75!
According to the women on PeeVille, the reality is different than advertising. Consumers report the meals are tasteless, as the Carne Asada was gray, boiled, gristle, and portions are typical prison amounts (small). Most gals reported spending $10.75 on chips and soda. Rip off!!!
New Common Fare menu (CFM)….we call it the starving diet
On Aug. 1st, the DOC instituted a “plant based” diet to take the place of religious and kosher diets. The kosher diet has been offered to inmates for the last 2 years, and it has been inordinately popular. Here’s why they stopped it….IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE!
All the poor women starving for fresh vegetables and clean meat all signed up for it. Checked the cost of fresh veggies and unprocessed meat lately?
As I hold the CFM menu in my hand….I read the small print. “All items do not contain meat or flesh containing products.”. Well, where are the inmates going to get vitamin B-12, which is only found in animal products? Will they get a B-12 supplement with that? Bet not.
Breakfast is pretty sparse–“cold cereal, (no milk, eat it dry) peanut butter and jelly, and 2 slices of potato bread. For lunch, they alternate between “hummus cup” and vegan salami, 4 slices of bread and a half cup of vegetable, a “snack item”, and a cookie. For dinner, they toss in beans and a half cup of “salad”. I used to be on the kosher, and it was my experience that the “salad” was unwashed, gritty, and yellow. They get only 4 hot meals a week!!! We can’t wait to see what THAT looks like.
And for our Jewish readers grab this, ” We use only special kosher cookware, knives, serving utensils. All kosher utensils are washed and stored separately, cooked items on kosher cookware only.” According to several interviews, the kitchen workers allege that that is B.S., they use the same stuff as they use on the regular food service.
I’ll have flies with my pizza
Dateline: Complex kitchen. Four women we heard from, swear that this is what goes on where they work at Complex. This is their claim: “On pizza day, the dough that is left on flat pans to rise are left in the hall where flies land all over it.” We can not confirm because Keefe did not return our calls.
Chicken & Dressing

Thank you so much for your response to the Two Tone Pie! Some have asked what we did for the entree. Well, I’ll tell you – you can’t keep a Southern girl away from traditions. So with that in mind I came up with a “corn bread” dressing from you youth. Bon appetite, Y’all – Mama Kat
Almost Southern Chicken & Dressing. Serves 4.
Crush 28-oz white tortilla chips to a fine crumb. Sprinkle with 2 tsp chicken bullion (we get it out of a Chicken Ranch Noodle mix,) 1 large palm of dehydrated onion, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 1 tsp cumin.sage powder(out of the Thai soup mix.) Mix ingredients, cover with boiling water and let sit gor 1 hour to hydrate.
Stir in 4 bags of diced chicken breast, 2 7-oz bags of corn (including the juices) and season with salt and dices jalapenos to taste. Make sure it’s very moist. Pour into a cooking dish and microwave 4-minutes. Turn the dish and cook for another 4 minutes. Let sit for 30-minutes and serve/

The AZDOC doesn’t believe in only punishing the perpetrator of a crime – they punish everybody!
These are recent examples of food the men have used to make HOOCH; Kool-aid, sugar, corn, jelly, jam, potatoes, syrup, fruit, fruit juice. The prison took all these items out of the commissary and off of the fundraiser menu.
So no more of these. We women EAT the corn, we don’t try to make whisky out of it.
Perryville’s CHRISTMAS DINNER 12-25-18, brought to you by Trinity Company
Official menu: Roast beef, mashed potatoes/gravy, broccoli, stuffing, pumpkin pie.
The roast beef was so tough you could have re-soled your shoes with it. They enhanced the flavor by soaking the beef in salt water. (That was your sodium limit for the week.)
The broccoli was all shredded stems, boiled to the consistency of glue – not one floret survived.
The hockey puck masquerading as stuffing was made of 2 butt ends of an old loaf of bread, soaked in water. I did tease out 3 bits of celery with a pen.
Mashed potatoes were watery, covered in a brownish substance Was that the gravy? I hope so because I don;t want to think about what else it could have been.
The pumpkin pie was commercial, so at least it was edible. All one bite of it.
Prison Food and Commissary Services: A Recipe for Disaster

In early July 2017, a group of women incarcerated at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Perryville collectively boycotted commissary purchases. The organized action began after the Arizona Department of Corrections hiked prices on various commissary items provided by Keefe Commissary Network, ranging from tampons and shoelaces to granola bars and soap.
The prisoners released a statement expressing their frustration over the increased prices. “We get one roll of toilet paper per week and 12 pads a month. Everything else comes out of our pockets, including [non-cafeteria] food. We make between $0.10-$0.45 an hour. 20 percent of our wages go to restitution and we get charged $2 a month for electricity,” they wrote. “With so little, we already struggle to make ends meet – often being left to choose between buying a bar of soap, which is now $1.50, or making a phone call home at $0.20 a minute. Now we’re expected to pay 70 percent more for staple items, like peanut butter.” During the boycott, prisoners bought only a single $0.06 toothbrush.
The Arizona Department of Corrections receives a 16 percent commission kickback from Keefe, which generated $6.3 million in 2016. A prison spokesman noted that only 268 commissary items out of 1,000 had increased in price, while another 222 decreased.
