The new, for-profit, health care provider started October 1st. for all Arizona jails and prisons. What a MESS.
Right off the bat, the computers stopped working, and I mean they couldn’t do anything right.
One hundred people were assigned to one (and only) Provider Johnson, just on Monday. He’s only one person folks, he can’t handle 100 patients. When Johnson tried to see as many as he could, the computer shut him down after 5.
In 1963 when computers first came out they could alphabetize….. the NaphCare computer couldn’t even do that, so half of San Carlos was rifling through 20 pages trying to find their name.
Where was the new NaphCare staff??? We saw the usual tired people at Medical, no new faces. By Wednesday, we didn’t even see them…they QUIT. And I mean permanently as in never coming back. Some had served at Perryville for years and years. Where were the mythical buses full of new staff we heard about?
The IT folks for NaphCare announced it would take up to 12 weeks to fix the computers. You think these clowns are going to work on them through the holidays???
I’ve interviewed several old-timers that are still here and they are going to quit soon too. They tell tales of the unbelievable incompetence of NaphCare and its staff.
Who suffers the most? Yes, the inmates. We have seen stories forwarded to the ACLU about medications canceled, appointments and surgeries canceled. Cancer patients going through chemotherapy have had their treatments stopped. Wrong medications that caused seizures are occurring.
It is a never-ending cycle of torture for inmates long neglected by the state of Arizona and their money-grubbing leaders. D.O.C.= Department of Corruption.
CORRECTION: 10-10-22 story on Crisis Central Naphcare
The computer sent Provider Johnson 30 patients in one day not 100. There was 100 people scheduled to be seen by all providers, nurses, dental, x-ray, GYN, etc. Johnson’s computer DID shut him down after 5 patients reportedly.
