“I was waiting at the Admin gate to go back to my yard when I saw what looked to be a bag of laundry on the concrete about 300 ft away. The more I looked at it the more it resembled a person laying there. A guard approached her body, and instead of immediately bending down to feel for a pulse, he kicked her with his boot to see if she moved. I was incredulous!
He finally got on his radio to alert staff, and then walked away.
Over my shoulder, I saw higher-level staff s-l-o-w-l-y sauntering over to her. If they were going any slower they’d be going backward. I didn’t get to see what happened to her as we were whisked away behind the fence. (Santa Cruz)”
What time/day/specific location?
I’ll see if I can find out and let you know
Hello. What my question is why has t my daughter received the vivatrol shot? In yavaphai itcounty jail it took two years of my daughter being arrested over and over again before my mother and I raised holy hell.. and then finally they actually gave it to her before she was transferred to Perryville which she would not have had to go to prison if they had not violated her rights to recieve medicine for opiate withdrawls and maintaince which is a law.. anyway so she gets to Perryville. And they did not follow through on making sure she received the vivatrol shot. It passes me off to no end. She’s depressed. She becomes susidial when quitting g opiates and as far as I’m concerned the correctional facilities are directly responsible for so many fentanyl overdoses .. for once released they usually die… when this could have been prevented if only the inmates knew their rights and even when they do know their rights the effing effing jails and prisons do t care. They refuse to give them medication for maintaince from opiate addiction. I do not understand how the staff can work their.. it’s so inhumane to know that they are going to die once they leave and ofcorse they are going to get high. They went through suffering with nothing and then served rotten food starved when they truly need nutrition… but nope. They don’t care. Why?why can’t they line up the 85 percent of inmates that are in their because of fentanyl addiction and administering the vivatrol shot. It helps their bodies get their natural hormones working again. . Wtf…? I’m going to go protest. With a sign .. by myself. If my daughter gets out without that shot then it’s enevetable just like so many others. She will od and die. They have a 300 percent higher risk of overdosing when released. Anyway. Why has my daughter not received the shot.
Hi Danielle,
Your daughter has to request the shot through her COIII, then fill out an application, and it should get approved by the Community Health Systems (they are on the outside) people who supply the shot. She will get approved unless she has certain health issues that could make it unsafe. Once she applies, she will be called to medical so the provider can sign off. Vivitrol is such a godsend. Please tell your daughter to talk to her COIII to get the application before she is released. They say to start the process at least 1-3 months before release, but I have seen people get it done a lot faster (2 weeks prior to release)
Wishing you and your daughter the best. She is very lucky to have you fighting for her.
