Earlier this year, the prison finally acknowledged, and honored, women that had served their country. The San Carlos “Finding Freedom Program” began in March of 2024. The premise was great…move all the vets together to improve morale and support within that population. One row of cubes in B1 was designated for this purpose. Two intersecting walls, and a row divider wall, were painted with patriotic murals. All branches of the services are represented. According to sources, the murals are a little more than half way finished. One resident was quoted as saying, “The dramatic centerpiece is missing…. a F-16 fighter jet taking off from the flight deck of an aircraft carrier into the sunset. Half the ocean is not done. Insignias are not complete. And the cameo needs some more work.” They already bought a small flagpole to put outside, but somehow couldn’t find the cement to erect it.
This is such a typical half-assed DOC government project. They start stuff and never finish it. We suppose it’s all about priorities. Call in and ask where DW Jones’s are. He’s probably more concerned with the elderly and disabled eating last at every meal. (see article, *Wheelchairs and disabled eat LAST*)
