As the jails pour out new people into the state prison system, the DOC can’t handle the deluge. Staff sources describe alleged improprieties in regard to the classification of inmates.

There are reports, that we can’t confirm, that some women with very high points (30-55) are being classed in minimum custody. The minimum should be 0 to 24 points. If this is true, technically closed custody inmates are being housed with minimum.

The DOC is facing a huge liability risk if that is true. I wonder if it ever occurred to Shinn to let out the elderly and dying inmates? Nope, they’re still worth $48k on the hoof, so he won’t do the right thing. It’s all about money….. right?
