We have unfortunately learned of another suicide on Santa Cruz yesterday. Visits are the life blood of every inmate, and being cut off from the warm embrace of family is heartbreaking.
The DOC resists every effort by mental health professionals to install more therapy for the inmates. A woman sits in a sterile, colorless environment, with no touching allowed. She is all alone in her mind, and sometimes they just snap from the pressure.
There is no suicide hotline there.
I was housed at perryville, I was on Santa Cruz n Lumley locked down. I’ve witnessed so much in the thirteen years I’ve done there. I’ve been on medium custody closed custody n perryville max custody back in 201. I was on Lumley the day the riot happen. I remember everything about that day. I have been locked in a hot cell with no cold water. The hottest my cell was 104, I know this cuz the officer told me even though there told not to tell us. Medical there sucks n that was one reason a lady commit suicide cuz medical refused to help her. I had to fight n fight with medical just to see a neurologist for my seizures n the lesion I have on my brain, I went years with out care from a neurologist. There is a lot they don’t tell the outside world n a lot they cover up in there.
